Fried Tofu with Mushroom Sauce

This is a simple Chinese home cooking style tofu stir-fry.

PREPARATION: Heat nonstick pan, add 2 Tb. oil. Fry tofu over medium heat until browned, 4 to 5 min. Drain on paper towel.


COOKING: Heat wok, add 2 Tb. oil. Add vegetables and stir-fry 1 min. Add 2 Tb. water, cover and steam 1 to 2 min.


Add soy sauce and mushroom sauce, toss to mix. Add tofu and black pepper. Cook until hot. Serve.

2 cakes firm tofu, cubed


2 tsp. garlic, minced


1 medium onion, cubed


4 cups baby bok choy, halved


1 carrot, roll cut


1 cup fresh mushrooms, large halved


1 Tb. light soy sauce


1 Tb. mushroom sauce


pinch black pepper
